Something for Baby - PPA220

Welcome back to another week with the Pals Paper Arts Challenge! This week we are working with this delightful and simple sketch:

Isn't it fun? I took the sketch literally when it said "any shape or image", I hope they meant it :)

My card is pretty straightforward but I did want to share one tip with you. I had some trouble with the pieces of the banner shifting when I was trying to lay them all out prior to adhering them...and then I had an epiphany! Someone else may have already discovered this, but it is new to me so wanted to pass it on. I took two of my Ovals Framelit Dies and laid them out like so:

I used a piece of scrap white card stock and ran it through my Big Shot. Since I didn't need the whole circle, I angled my paper to cut out only half of the oval. Then I ran my snail over one side, laid it over my card and adhered my banner pieces directly to it. Once done, I flipped the whole thing over, added Stampin' Dimensionals, and adhered it to my card...perfectly placed and so easy!

I used the Something for Baby Stamp Set and coordinating Baby's First Framelit Dies to create the onesie and the adorable flower. You can purchase these two items bundled together and save 15%!

I was Guest Designer with the 'Can You Case It' challenge blog back in May and I am excited to share that I have been invited to join their design team!  I'm thrilled to be working along side some very talented designers and look forward to working with new challenges each week!

This week's challenge is a fabulous color combination:

Coincidentally, those colors can be found in the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper, brand new in the holiday catalog!! Isn't it just lovely??

So...I took the challenge and changed the paper from holiday to any day. I want to know that I can still use the paper after the holidays have passed! More bang for the buck, right?!? This paper series is seriously to die for! Photos don't do it justice, so trust me, you NEED this one!

I stamped with two stamp sets on this project. The leaves and flowers are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and the sentiment is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. A very useful sentiment stamp set, handy to have around!

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to place the leaf branch right where I wanted it and then turned the card stock around so I could stamp from the top down, leaving just enough space for my sentiment. I dabbed a bit of Dazzling Details into the center of the flowers for some sparkle. Double matting the top layer and popping it up with Stampin' Dimensionals adds depth and visual interest. Today this lovely 3/8th" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Lost Lagoon is the finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by! Please visit the Can You Case It Challenge Blog to see the other designers' projects and we would looovvveee it if you played along! With a color combination like this, how can you pass it up?? lol

Bordering Blooms Hello - FMS140

What a fun sketch this week from Linda C. over at Freshly Made Sketches! I just had to play along, even though I am sliding in just under the deadline :)

I love the possibilities with this sketch! I KNEW I wanted to use Stampin' Up!'s new Bordering Blooms photopolymer stamp set, along with showcasing some of the amazing new Designer Series Paper. The catalog photos don't do the paper justice...they are GORGEOUS!

I pulled out scraps of coordinating cardstock to make my banners and I found a piece that had already been die cut using the Finishing Touches Edgelits so I threw that in as well:) A few Candy Dots to balance it all out and an envelope lined in coordinating paper from the Park Lane DSP finishes it all off!

I had a lot of fun with this one, hope you like it!

A Banner Blast Valentine

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you! I finally made it into my stamp room last night and created this fun Valentine! I used the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape to ground these cute little images from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Banner Blast. I stamped the images in Versamark Ink, then heat embossed the using Gold Embossing Powder and punched them out using the Banner Punch - another Sale-A-Bration product!

I found the sentiment in the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set and loved it! Simple and sweet and not too mushy! I also heat embossed the sentiment and then wrapped everything up with some Gold Baker's Twine. I used the Gold Foil Sheets to frame my top layer and finished it off with some gold sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim. Love it!

I made another version, this one layered on an additional layer of Very Vanilla cardstock and then popped up off the card base with Stampin' Dimentionals. I can't decide which I prefer...which one do you like better?
