Art in the Park - CYCI137
/Welcome to another edition of the Can You Case It Blog Challenge! This week you are challenged to scrapbook in some way, shape or form. Traditional layouts, Digital Layouts, or with Project Life.
I can officially say that I am in LOVE with digital scrapbooking. I scrapbooked traditionally for many years before becoming interested in card making a little over four years ago. Since I began making cards, my scrapbooking have sat lonely and relatively unused :( So I have been waging an internal battle for a few years over switching to digital scrapbooking. One part of me has been arguing that I need to use up all of my current supplies first and the other side has been arguing that I will get done ALOT faster and with less pain if I scrapbook digitally.
Today's layout has finally sealed the deal for me. It has been a bit of a learning curve but I now know enough tricks in My Digital Studio to achieve the result I want. My Digital Studio really is a fantastic tool and at $19.95 to purchase, there really is no reason not to. You can even give My Digital Studio a test drive with the free trial version and there are so many tutorials out there on YouTube to get you going. It comes with preloaded pages so all you have to do is load your pictures if you wanted to keep it that simple! And you can send your pages/books to print straight from the program...it really is fantastic!
If you really want to stick with traditional scrapbooking, please consider giving Stampin' Up's Project Life kits a try. They are hands on but are fast and fun to put together and since they coordinate with Stampin' Up! colors, you can use all of your existing inks, ribbons and embellishments to add lots of fun detail. But Stampin' Up's Project Life kits have fun embellishment packs so don't overlook those...I'm sure you will find something you HAVE to have! lol
If you have any questions about techniques or any of the Stampin' Up! products I used on my page, and everything on the page except my picture is a Stampin' Up! product, please feel free to leave a comment or send me an email.
Before I sign off, I wanted to share a two page traditional spread that I created a few (ahem) years ago. As a clue, my boys in these pictures are now 26 and almost 24! Also, you will notice that I have always been a clean and simple kinda girl. With boys I always toned everything down, but in my digital page today, I reveled in all things "girlie" lol
I wanted to share that the journaling on the first page below actually opens op like a book to reveal more journaling underneath. I somehow manged to print it that way, no idea how now. I slit the page protector in the album so that readers could open it up and read the rest of the text :)
I apologize that the two pages are not side-by-side. Unfortunately, that exceeds my technical capabilities :)
Thank you for stopping by!
