Thinking of Mom - CYCI16

I am very honored to have been asked to be a guest designer today for the Can You Case It Challenge Blog. This week the challenge is to create a Mother's Day card...

I have a funny story to go along with today's card. This week I have spent some time going through my retired stash and discovered the stamp set Fabulous Florets in with my retired supplies. The funny part is that it is not retired yet! It is currently on the list to be retired on June 1st and I have never used it! Oops! So I was determined that it was going to be used today! And it's a perfect fit for the theme today!

I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz (a fabulous shade of green, by the way) and stamped the flowers in Primrose Petals. I will miss this shade when it retires!! I fussy cut the flowers out and popped them up on Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment is from the soon-to-be-retired set Delightful Dozen. It sets the flowers off perfectly when stamped in Primrose Petals....did I say I was going to miss this color? (sniff) I rounded the corners of the top kayer for just a bit of added visual interest.

Three tiny pearls provide the perfect amount of jewelry.

I hope you have enjoyed today's special post. I have enjoyed being a guest designer for the Can You Case It Challenge Blog very much! If you have a chance won't you play along as well?

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Thinking of Mom - PPA195

Today's card was inspired by the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge. It's such a cheery color combination to remind us that spring is coming! For many of you, such a relief after this long winter!

I've been making cards for Operation Write Home and they need special occasion cards well ahead of time so this sentiment and the Petite Petals stamp were already on my table!

I ran some Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot along with the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder and then layered it on top of Rose Red Core'dinations Cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen stamp set and then die cut using a die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits Die set. I die cut another one in Rose Red, cut it right down the middle (top to bottom) and then layered that underneath the sentiment, offset just a bit.

The lovely blossoms are stamped in So Saffron using the Petite Petals stamp set and then punched out with the Petite Petals Punch and popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

The leaves are die cut using the Little Leaves Sizzlits Die and Wild Wasabi Core'dinations Cardstock. I made two die cuts, turning the cardstock over so that I could get the texture on the leaves going both directions.

Pearl Basic Jewels are the perfect finishing touch!

How about you? Are you ready for some spring weather?

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Wedding Wishes

My niece called me up recently, quite unexpectedly, to ask if she could purchase some cards from me...to say I was surprised is an understatement! I am thrilled to pieces that she would think of my cards and of course am sending her a care package as we speak!

Her request inspired me to create a few pieces, one of which is featured today. I went searching for inspiration on Pinterest and found this card by Nadine Weiner that I just had to case (copy and share everything)!

Can you see the lovely shimmer? This is the first opportunity I have had to use the Foil Sheets available in the Holiday Catalog and I have a new love! Such a beautiful subtle finish for a wedding card, don't you think? And I haven't pulled out the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and matching dies in quite a while...they look superb here stamped in Metallic Silver. And this pattern from the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper sets everything off wonderfully!

And of course, what would a wedding be without a few pearls? I'm adding a few other cards to my niece's care package and will share some of them with you over the next few weeks. I'm hoping she enjoys using them!

I couldn't resist sharing this ADORABLE little bunny with you today. My bunny is inspired by a card I saw recently by Debbie Henderson. So cute! I CASEd the bunny exactly but changed up the layout to suit my taste.

Isn't that little tail the cutest ever?? This little guy comes together very quickly with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and the Large Oval Punch. His paw pads are punched from the confetti in the Cupcake Builder Punch. Add just a bit of a cotton ball, mushed together into a ball and you have a delightful little cotton tail! And the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper is the finishing touch for a cheerful holiday greeting!

I hope you have enjoyed my little bunny and that you have a wonderful holiday!
