Merry Everything - PPA230

Welcome to another Pals Paper Arts Challenge! This week we have a fun color challenge for you:

This color combination said "Christmas" to me so that's the direction I went. One more Christmas card done...check!

I had a fun and busy weekend, celebrating the holiday and cyber-shopping and decorating the house. Fun! It's that busy time of year so I hope you are able to make some time to play along with us!

Merry & Bright

Hello friends and Happy Thanksgiving to you!

As we celebrate our blessings today, we can't help but think of what comes next...Christmas! And all the busyness that entails. I've been busily creating Christmas cards and using challenges as my inspiration. Today's card was inspired by this sketch over at The Paper Players:

I kept my card fairly simple and definitely monochromatic. All the red just makes me happy:)

I hope you have a wonderful holiday full of joy and memories.

Many Merry Stars - Freshly Made Sketches 162

I just received this stamp set, Many Merry Stars, in the mail last week and have been itching to ink it up so I found an excuse! lol This sketch from Freshly Made Sketches was just the ticket!

The size of cardstock I had to work with, and stamp my images in, wasn't very large but no problem! I simply stamped off with the two largest star stamps and the filled them both in with the next sized stamp and then filled in with the smallest snowflake...ez peasy!! And since they're clear, placement of stamps was a breeze. They even gave us a curvy sentiment to work with....I L O V E this stamp set!!

There is no die to go along with the sentiment but it was really easy to cut out freehand. I popped it up on Stampin' Dimensionals to give it a bit more 'oomph'. I laid a thin layer of Soft Sky Seam Binding down and then placed a sparkly snowflake on top. The snowflake is from last year but it was the perfect accent. A few snowflake sequins add a bit to the design and accentuate the falling snow look I was going for. And all this from a girl who has been a Southern California girl for xx years! Let's leave it at that, it's been awhile!

I hope you have enjoyed today's card and that you are inspired to get inky!!

Happy Wonderful Christmas - CAS(E) this Sketch! #98

Happy Wonderful Christmas - CAS(E) this Sketch! #98

Greetings! Last Sunday I promised you more Christmas cards so here's another one! I had a lot of fun with this one, inspired by this clever sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch:

I love it! They do such a great job with their sketches!

I knew my object had to be a tree, so I pulled out the Festival of Trees stamp set. It's so fun to be able to stamp the tree and then stamp all the bulbs on in a different color and so easy because the stamps are photopolymer (clear)!

I wanted a larger sentiment and love the look and feel of this sentiment from the Wondrous Wreath stamp set. The script in the middle is wondrous! lol

Happy Wonderful Christmas - CAS(E) this Sketch! #98

I needed some light random embellishments to place on my card. I thought and thought, and then thought some more. Then I thought of something I hadn't thought of before! (Sorry, couldn't help myself) Snowflakes! Yes! That's it! So I went through the catalog comparing the stamp set I own to the current sets, looking for snowflakes and I found them in the Mingle All the Way stamp set. They are the perfect size!

The snowflakes are mingled in with the sentiment so I pulled out my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and my Stampin' Markers in Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green and went to work picking out just the snowflakes to ink up. I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to see exactly where they should go.  I think they turned out soooo pretty! I added just a bit of Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter to them and the little bit of shimmer catches the light just right!

I added a bit of Linen Thread to add a bit of substance to my tree and pulled out a pretty plaid pattern from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack. It has such a great variety in it!

That's it! Another clean and perhaps not-so-simple Christmas card! Thanks to the folks over at CAS(E) this Sketch for providing so much inspiration!
