Strong as a Tree

I found this awesome color combination over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog and decided I HAD to play along and use some of my new goodies :)

Isn't it FUN?? This combination just screamed masculine to me so I immediately thought of my new stamp from the Occasions Catalog Look Up to Father as well as the new Hardwood Background Stamp!

I love new goodies! I stamped the Hardwood background stamp on the card base as well as a piece layered to 5 1/4" x 4" and then ran the smaller piece through my Big Shot with the new Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die. I layered a piece of wax paper between my cardstock and the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die to make it easier to get the die cut piece out. It worked like a charm!

I used my Stampin' Markers to ink up the stamp. Coloring with markers can sometimes take a bit of time, no worries, when you are done coloring, just huff on the stamp (all over) to re-moisten the ink and then stamp!

I layered the stamped image onto Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar cardstock and then used a bit of our 7/16" Natural Trim as a bit of "jewelry" (Since it's for dad, perhaps we shouldn't call it "jewelry", lol).

Just for fun, I inked up a bit of Whisper White cardstock with the Hardwood Background Stamp and then ran it through my Big Shot with the Envelope Framelits Dies and then adhered it to an envelope to create a coordinating envelope. Fun!

I'm trying to keep ahead of the holidays...Mother's Day...check...Father's Day...check!

I have a birthday card to get into the mail so I'm off to work on that one! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
