Well Worded Celebration - PCCCS#111

Happy Monday! I know, but what can we do? Here's a bit of cheeriness to brighten your morning!

Well Worded Celebration - PCCCS#111

I came across this A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E sketch last night and went running for my stamping studio. Yes, I had indeed spent all day in there already, but when inspiration strikes, you have to go with it! Here's the sketch I used from the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch Challenge

I think I have found a new challenge, this sketch is just wonderful! I needed some bright and cheery papers for this sketch and found exactly what I needed with the Flowerpot Designer Series Papers!

Once again, I just went with the color palette that Stampin' Up! had already supplied me. I chose to focus on Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango. I chose those colors because I knew that I wanted to emboss this adorable cake and I have embossing powders in both of those colors :) The rest of the card just grew from there, bit by bit.

This cake from the Well Worded Stamp Set is just so cute, even cuter when it's been heat embossed! I love the Crushed Curry background paper and the coordinating paper on the right of the sentiment brings in a refreshing pop of color to break up all of that yellow :) I used the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to punch a flower from the same paper and place it on the bottom left to help balance out that color. The playful sentiment is from the Cupcake Party Stamp Set and brings in another pop of color and whimsy.

I kept going with my whimsical theme, adding random loops of linen thread on both sides of the sentiment (to balance visual weight) and threw in some more punch flowers, this time in Tangerine Tango. I added an additional layer of Stampin' Dimensionals to the lower right hand flower to add another bit of depth to the design. And of course, what card would be complete without Candy Dots? I varied the colors to add more whimsy.

There's a bit more "stuff" on my card today than I usually use. Please let me know what you think of all the extra "bling"!

I have been busy in my stamping studio and can't wait to share with you! I will be back tomorrow with another challenge!

Have a creative day and thanks for stopping by!

Today's card was inspired by the fun sketch challenge over at the Fab Friday challenge blog:

I built the color scheme around one of the fun prints in the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper Collection. It's such a bright print that I was a bit nervous to use it, but I relied on white space to balance the brightness out.

The Large Polka Dot Embossing Folder as well as the layers of Tangerine Tango and Blushing Bride card stock add interest without overpowering the card. I heat embossed part of the sentiment in Crushed Curry and the other part is stamped in Tangerine Tango. Several layers of Baker's Twine cover the seam on the card. After I tied the knot, I frayed the ends with my Paper Piercer. I loved the finished look!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stop by again soon!

A little confession...Garden Green is my least favorite color. Blah. I never use it. Ever. I even challenged myself recently to create a card with that color, no could do. Not even a smidge of Garden Green was allowed to touch any of my cards. Until now.

I saw this cute sketch for the Pals Paper Arts challenge:

and decided to pull out the new Flowerpot Designer Series Paper. I spread all the papers out and was immediately drawn to the pattern that I eventually used for the card base. Such cute polka dots! And how cute it would be next to this awesome green paper...wait, that's Garden Green! Finally! An awesome combination and I get move past my Garden Green block...life is good:)

The rest of the card came together quickly and I was even happier when I realized how well Smoky Slate looked against the green! I decided it needed a baker's twine bow and of course...Candy Dots! lol

Have you been enjoyed the peeks at the new Designer Series Papers this year? If so, hold on to your hats because next month you will be able to get one pack FREE with the purchase of three. That's a savings of $10.95! So start making your list...

Thank you for stopping by and if you would, please let me know if you have issues with a particular color...I know lots of people had issues with Summer Starfruit but I personally loved it :)
