I'm back today with a fun little card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge:
Isn't this a fun sketch? Such a nice big block of space to work with...so many possibilities! I've had a card in my head for awhile now and thought that this sketch would capture it well. It's not quite what I had in mind but I still love it:
When I first starting making cards I was completely overwhelmed by many of the bright, and to me quite loud, papers. I have finally found my niche, white space. White space balances out the bright and bold very nicely. This gem of a pattern paper today is from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper line. I LOVE it!!! I took my cue for the other colors right from the DSP line itself. Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Soft Suede and Whisper White.
I'm not a fan of odd shaped cards. I don't know why, it just is. But when I pulled out my Square Framelits I realized that the largest size had a scalloped edge and I was intrigued and decided I had to try it out!!
I cut the DSP and laid it onto of the folded Whisper White card stock and then laid the scallop die on top, being careful to make sure that none of the top edge touched the card stock. Then I ran the whole thing through the Big Shot and voila! a cute little card!!
The adorable little flowers are from the Flower Patch Stamp Set and then die cut with the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits. So Cute! And when you buy both products together in a bundle, you save 15% Such a deal!
I simply colored a few pearls with my Daffodil Delight Blendabilites and now they look fabulous!
Of course, I needed to make a custom envelope and coordinating liner for my oddly shaped card...no problem! I just whipped out my Envelope Punch Board and created one quickly! How did I do that, you ask? Well, I could explain the whole thing or simply direct you to my upline Mary Fish's YouTube video as she explains it so well! I myself am terrified of video cameras so if you are waiting for me to make a video, it might be rather a long wait! lol
Hope you enjoyed today's card and that you get some crafty time in yourself this weekend! I'm (hopefully) going to be putting my stamping closet back together and getting everything back in its place properly:)
Thanks so much for stopping by!
