Hello there! I have had these papers from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack on my table for a few days now, trying to use them but nothing was quite right...until I saw the sketch this week over at Freshly Made Sketches:
I love the bold striped pattern but needed something to tone it down just a bit...the combination of a neutral pattern and lots of white space does the job perfectly. I knew I wanted to use the pansies from the Flower Shop stamp set but didn't want them to get lost on top of the busy pattern so...voila! Some randomly placed linen thread fills the bill! I have seen this technique used before and wanted to try it myself. No laughing but I didn't want to bother googling this technique (no idea what it would be called) so I just jumped in. I fussed with it for a bit and then wound up just placing a few glue dots down and then randomly winding and placing the linen thread.....I said no laughing!!
Anyway, I really like how it turned out and the pansies definitely don't get lost now! I added some pearls to the card and colored them with my Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, using the darkest shade which is really close to Hello Honey, the color in the pattern paper.
Don't you just think the color is yummy?!? I love it and the pattern papers as well. I'm probably sounding like a broken record but it's true...they are AWESOME!
Thanks for stopping by!
