Timeless Talk Birthday Wishes - The Paper Players #219

Welcome to Monday! This week, I'm okay with Monday because it's my short week and I have Friday OFF!! Yep, a whole day of undisturbed stamping...the thought just makes me so happy!

I WASN'T going to stamp today, my plans were to complete all my chores, but then I saw this cute sketch over at The Paper Players and I was instantly diverted...

It's just SO fun and my mind was instantly spinning with ideas. This was the first card to bubble out...

And right about now, you're thinking 'Wait!, what Designer Series Paper is THAT from?' Right? Well, it's from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper! Yes, it's retired but it's also on Stampin' Up!'s clearance rack at a phenomenal price! Aren't they just tooo cute together?

The paper has a masculine tone to it so I chose a stamp from the Timeless Talk stamp set that I thought would compliment it well. The stamp and the sentiment are stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.

I went looking for an accent to put in the upper left hand corner and found this fun decorative paper clip. But when I attached it with the ampersand out, the rest of the clip was hidden and it looked unfinished so I put the ampersand behind the paper and the rest of the clip out, but then I thought what a waste of a decorative ampersand if I'm just going to hide it....

So I pulled out my Multipurpose Liquid Glue and ever so lightly applied thin dots of it to the back of my paper clip and laid it on my card. PERFECT!! And the glue is sticking like, well, glue!! It's not going anywhere!! LOVE!!

Honestly folks, card making doesn't get much more simple than this! Stampin' Up! has really done all the work for me with super papers, inks, and stamps. The finishing touch was to use my Envelope Punch Board to round the lower right hand corner.

Please let me know what you think and how you would have handled my ampersand dilemma!

Thanks for stopping by!!
