Just Because - CYCI35

Just Because - CYCI35

I was Guest Designer with the 'Can You Case It' challenge blog back in May and I am excited to share that I have been invited to join their design team!  I'm thrilled to be working along side some very talented designers and look forward to working with new challenges each week!

This week's challenge is a fabulous color combination:

Coincidentally, those colors can be found in the All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper, brand new in the holiday catalog!! Isn't it just lovely??

So...I took the challenge and changed the paper from holiday to any day. I want to know that I can still use the paper after the holidays have passed! More bang for the buck, right?!? This paper series is seriously to die for! Photos don't do it justice, so trust me, you NEED this one!

I stamped with two stamp sets on this project. The leaves and flowers are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and the sentiment is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. A very useful sentiment stamp set, handy to have around!

I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to place the leaf branch right where I wanted it and then turned the card stock around so I could stamp from the top down, leaving just enough space for my sentiment. I dabbed a bit of Dazzling Details into the center of the flowers for some sparkle. Double matting the top layer and popping it up with Stampin' Dimensionals adds depth and visual interest. Today this lovely 3/8th" Stitched Satin Ribbon in Lost Lagoon is the finishing touch.

Thank you for stopping by! Please visit the Can You Case It Challenge Blog to see the other designers' projects and we would looovvveee it if you played along! With a color combination like this, how can you pass it up?? lol

Autumn Wondrous Wreath - PPA218

Greetings! It's hard to believe that it's September already! Time to take down the summer wreath from the door and put up fall decorations. I'm starting with this card I created for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge:

Autumn Wondrous Wreath - PPA218

Here is the fun color combination that inspired my card:

I used the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set and Wonderful Wreath Framelit Dies to create my fall wreath. The set is actually designed to be used for a Christmas Wreath, and I will use it for that, but I like to see how much usage I can get from my stamp sets, so this one is doing double duty! I can see it changed out for many different occasions.

This set is a builder set and has three images that stamp right on top of on another to create the finished effect. They are easy to line up as the stamps are clear AND they have a neat tab at the top so you always know which way is up! Very important! And the coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelit Dies have tabs at the top as well!! EZ Peasy!

Isn't the stamped and die cut bow adorable?? I added some sparkle to the berries in my wreath with Dazzling Diamonds. They don't photograph well so you'll have to trust me...they sparkle!

I'm excited to see what you create with this color combination! Please pop on over to the Pals Paper Arts Challenge Blog for more inspiration for some very talented designers!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' Up!'s Little Black Dress - SSSC234

I know, you're probably thinking "black dress"? I thought this was a card making blog! Well, it is! And Stampin' Up!'s Back to Black Designer Series Paper is like your little black dress. We all have one, hiding in the closet, waiting for that perfect occasion. Today I pulled out mine out and gussied it up a bit!

So what do you think? I found a fun sketch over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and had to play along!

The paper is so elegant and tailored feeling and I love that, but at the same time wanted to add a bit of softness so I chose to emboss my white cardstock panel with the new Lovely Lace Embossing Folder. A bit more softness was added with the Watercolor Thank You Stamp, heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder.

I kept the rest of the card minimal to let these details stand out and finished it off with three Candy Dots in Rose Red and a matching heart. The stamped heart provides visual balance to the card. If I had just punched the heart out of Rose Red card stock, it would have been too heavy on that side. I don't know why, but just that touch of whimsy and color finishes the card off very nicely. The super cute heart stamp can be found in the Something to Say Stamp Set and was one of the main reasons I bought that set! The heart, star, and tiny blossom in the set coordinate with the new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. It's a must have punch pack in my opinion!

On to another bit of news, I'm super excited to share with you that one of my cards has been featured in the Paper Crafters' Library Trendy Tuesday Feature! Here's a direct link to it if you would like to take a peek:

Thank you so much for stopping by and if you have visited before, thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming back. I hope you are inspired to get crafty!

I will be back on Thursday with my Pals Paper Arts project!

Remembering Your Birthday - PP211

Hello there and happy holiday Monday to you! In the States we are celebrating Labor Day with a long weekend, giving me LOTS of stamping time!

Today I'm playing along with The Paper Players and a fun Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!

Remembering Your Birthday - PP211

Here were my choices:

I decided to work with Birthday, Yellow, and Patterned Paper. I threw in the Pear Pizzazz because the challenge didn't say ONLY yellow :) I hope I don't get thrown out! lol

I pulled out the Borderettes stamp set and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and got busy! I really enjoy these small images because they are so versatile! I also combined birthday sentiments from two different sets, Age Awareness and Remembering Your Birthday to mix up the fonts a bit. This star clip from the Basics Hodgepodge Clips set is the perfect accent!
