Isn't this paper amazing? It's from the Back to Black Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!. The pattern is so classic and clean! I found this wonderful sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch and this card just fell into place. Here's the sketch:

I decided to flip the background of the sketch so I could use more of the new delicious DSP :) The dahlia makes a perfect centerpiece, also classic clean design. I just love the Petite Pairs stamp set as all the sentiments in the set fit perfectly inside the Large Oval Punch and that of course pairs perfectly with the Scallop Oval Punch. Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to make awesome cards!

I don't think I have mentioned yet how much I LOVE the new Memento Tuxedo Black stamp pad! It provides quick, crisp and complete coverage and dries almost instantly. It is a MUST HAVE in any crafters arsenal :)

I decided a bit of Chevron Ribbon would satisfy one of the elements on the upper left hand corner of the sketch and called it good. But after photographing my card several times, I just wasn't satisfied so I went back and added three Candy Dots. Much better! And I managed to satisfy the last element in the sketch...even better! Love me some Candy Dots!! lol

Please let me know what you think...I love your comments!

Bordering Blooms Hello - FMS140

What a fun sketch this week from Linda C. over at Freshly Made Sketches! I just had to play along, even though I am sliding in just under the deadline :)

I love the possibilities with this sketch! I KNEW I wanted to use Stampin' Up!'s new Bordering Blooms photopolymer stamp set, along with showcasing some of the amazing new Designer Series Paper. The catalog photos don't do the paper justice...they are GORGEOUS!

I pulled out scraps of coordinating cardstock to make my banners and I found a piece that had already been die cut using the Finishing Touches Edgelits so I threw that in as well:) A few Candy Dots to balance it all out and an envelope lined in coordinating paper from the Park Lane DSP finishes it all off!

I had a lot of fun with this one, hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it very much!

Hip & Happening Birthday - RS117

Hip & Happening Birthday - RS117

Hi there! I've just unpacked all my new goodies from the new Stampin' Up! catalog and I am IMPRESSED! I am truly inspired by all of the wonderful papers they have this year! Actually, I was a bit overwhelmed because I wanted to use them all at once :) So...I turned to this awesome sketch from Retro Sketches for help:

I love, love, love all the patterns in the new Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper. I used a more neutral pattern as my backdrop against this AMAZING new sentiment from the Age Awareness stamp set, stamped in Bermuda Bay. I used a very colorful pattern to ground my sentiment and pulled colors from the patterned paper to compliment both the papers and the sentiment. A small strip of Crushed Curry cardstock balances out my bow and Candy Dots (my fav) add a bit of jewelry and balance. Once I was done I felt it still needed "something" to balance out the weight of the bow so I ended up adding two buttons off to the left. I couldn't tell you why, but they seem to just 'finish' the card.

I used another patterned paper from this collection to line my envelope. I just love all these patterns together. One neutral, one small pattern and one large pattern and they compliment each other perfectly! I just love how easy Stampin' Up! makes it for me to be creative :)

Thanks for stopping by and I promise to be back soon with more samples of awesome new product!
