Godspeed - CTS #89

I saw this challenge sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and was immediately intrigued...

Sometimes my inspiration for a card is a piece of Designer Series Paper, or perhaps Washi Tape, sometimes a color scheme, sometimes a stamp set. I just randomly move around my craft space looking at things until I feel that spark. After pondering the sketch throughout my  day, I came home and started perusing my recent stamp set purchases. I pulled out this one, then that one, feeling little sparks, when my hands came across the For Your Country stamp set. I glanced at the images and that spark hit me...actually today it was more like a lightening bolt...and I saw the completed card quite clearly in my mind.

This is what I saw:

Godspeed - CTS #89

What do you think? I think this one image, one word, combined with the color scheme, really send a powerful message. Honestly, as simple as this card is, it's complete. And so it stands, a prayer for the safe return of our loved ones.

The colors I chose for this project are Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Early Expresso and Mossy Meadow. I heat embossed both the image and the sentiment with Black Embossing Powder. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the image layer off off the card base and then then sentiment as well. Both provide depth and give interest to this quite clean and simple card.

If you are so moved, I would encourage you to visit the Operation Write Home website and see if there is anything you can do to send our service members some love from home. Thank you and a very heartfelt thank you to every one who has served, or loves someone who has/is serving. Godspeed to All.

And a shout out to my own service member. I am VERY proud of him. Big hugs to my son.

Thank you for stopping by today, I appreciate each and every visit and hope you come back to see what else I am up to :)

Clean and Simple Saturday - A Simple Love Note

Good morning and Happy Saturday to you! Here's a fun card that can be whipped up in a jiffy!

This card was inspired by TWO challenges, I know, that's A LOT for such a simple card right? lol The layout was inspired by by the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch #63 and the color combination was inspired by the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge:

The main image can be found in the Hearts a Flutter stamp set and it has a coordinating framelit! Perfect! I love coordinating products! The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set and the awesome cupid's arrow can be found in the Countless Sayings 2 photopolymer stamp set.

The finishing touches were just ONE rhinestone and a rounded corner, both in the direction of the arrow, which help to empasize the movement!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

A Banner Blast Valentine

Good Morning and Happy Friday to you! I finally made it into my stamp room last night and created this fun Valentine! I used the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape to ground these cute little images from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set Banner Blast. I stamped the images in Versamark Ink, then heat embossed the using Gold Embossing Powder and punched them out using the Banner Punch - another Sale-A-Bration product!

I found the sentiment in the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set and loved it! Simple and sweet and not too mushy! I also heat embossed the sentiment and then wrapped everything up with some Gold Baker's Twine. I used the Gold Foil Sheets to frame my top layer and finished it off with some gold sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim. Love it!

I made another version, this one layered on an additional layer of Very Vanilla cardstock and then popped up off the card base with Stampin' Dimentionals. I can't decide which I prefer...which one do you like better?

Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Special Edition - Love Ya!

Do you like my new look? I don't usually post on Sundays but I couldn't wait to implement the changes that I have making to my blog. I made the new header myself in MDS and I just loovvvvee it! I think the cute envelope is a nice tie in to my blog name, after all what good is a card without an envelope? lol

And daisies are my favorite flower, so perky and cheerful, and purple is my favorite color so I managed to incorporate them both! The design is very clean and simple, which is very much my style.

Enough on that, you came to see a card, right?! Here it is!

I used a simple heart from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set to stamp a background in various shades of pink. I added a strip of designer series paper on the left to ground the hearts and then added a sentiment.

The sentiment is from the Just Sayin' stamp set and was die cut using the Word Bubbles Framelits Dies. I love that you can bundle both products together and save! I used the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies to create a matching envelope liner and I'm done!

So fun and easy!

Please let me know what you think of my new look!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
